About The Project
Public Open House
In April, we will host two public meetings to learn more about the Sycamore Riverside Energy Center. At the meeting, you will have an opportunity to visit with project team members one-on-one to provide comments and ask questions. The meetings are open house style with no formal presentation. You may come and go to learn more at your own pace during either of the scheduled meeting times.

Indiana is a national leader in clean energy generation. Secure and reliable power is a key component of strong communities and economies. The Sycamore Riverside Energy Center will use natural gas to provide dispatchable energy, keeping the grid reliable and flexible. Dispatchable energy complements wind, solar, and battery storage to form the cleanest and most affordable energy options, especially as electric demand is growing and more coal-fired plants are shutting down. |
The following three key infrastructure elements are needed to support a dispatchable power generation facility: a nearby electric substation, a power transmission line, and a natural gas pipeline. Sullivan County, Indiana, provides access to all three of these infrastructure needs, which led to the site selection for Sycamore Riverside Energy Center. Moreover, the location is on the border of the two major energy operators’ territories, providing opportunities for the power generated to feed into the grid. |
Sycamore Riverside Energy Center will use clean-burning natural gas technology to enhance grid reliability and support new sustainable energy resources.
Invenergy will work with Sullivan County to establish a road use agreement for the Sycamore Riverside Energy Center, ensuring all county roads and infrastructure will be well-maintained during construction.
Sycamore Riverside Energy Center will be situated in Fairbanks Township, Indiana within Sullivan County. Invenergy has secured full land control for the project under a Purchase Option Agreement.
